What is a Doula?

A doula is a professional, who works with families during pregnancy, during labor and in the birth process, and in the immediate postpartum time, offering support, encouragement, information, comfort, and referrals as needed. A Doula helps achieve the healthiest most satisfying experience possible for the entire family!

Urban Doula uses evidence-based information when providing information to parents to make healthy decisions for their birth. Embracing positive attitudes and approaches all situations with a loving, non-judgmental mindset. Urban Doula strives to bridge the gaps amongst support and healthcare professionals.

Core Values

Urban Doula supports all forms of birth; vaginal, VBAC, Cesareans. Urban Doula offers support to those who choose at home births, hospital setting and or birthing centers.

Urban Doula supports Surrogacy and or Adoption births.

Urban Doula supports all. Pronouns; he/him/his, she/her/hers.
